FIRST PIANO ROUND

His song from “Hum Dil de chuke Sanam” – Tadap Tadap ke yeh dil se aha nekal te rehe left them speechless. The amazing part was that this man had not been well.

ANU – You have taken the competition to another level. And praised his personality, which never fails to appeal because of his humbleness and goodness of soul.
FARAH – I cannot find any fault even if I want to.
SONU – This has indeed been the best rendration of this song in the Indian Idol.

FIRST GALA ROUND
Abhijeet Sawant floored the judges and the audiences alike with “tu hai asaman mein” Both Anu and Sonu praised Abhijeet’s personality, which they felt was humble and endearing.

Farah – you were fantastic and said that the audiences should thank the judges for bringing such talent before them
Anu – you must have told your self abhi jeet
Sonu – you are a complete performer and was ready to become a professional singer

SECOND GALA ROUND
With Abhijeet that show only got better. He performed "ashik baneyo na" and shocked the judges. Farah who did not know that a male voice had sung this song after hearing Abhijeet felt that only a male voice should sing this romantic song.
Anu declared that Abhijeet is bound to be victorious.
Sonu was equally surprised. He had never heard Abhijeet perform such a number and felt that he was going to go a long way in the show.

THIRD GALA ROUND
Abhijeet rocked with 'Mohabat hai Mirchi' in silver pants and a black jacket
Farah wanted him to shake his head again. What shocked the judges was his presentation and appearance. Gone was the humble boy from Mumbai and standing center stage was a rock star, the make over was so complete. Farah had a tough time, identifying him 'This is a really a different performance - Sonu and Zaheed too were impressed by his looks but Anu failed to succumb. Abhijeet's performance disappointed him.
Farah: You were fantastic
Anu: I am not impressed
Sonu: This is truly a different performance
Zaheed: Jeet tumhare hoge


FOURTH GALA ROUND
Abhijeet sang “channa vey ghar aa ja re”
Farah felt that after the piano round this was Abhijeet’s best performance.
Sonu complimented him on the originality of his voice.
Juhi just enjoyed his performance whole-heartedly
Anu asked him to work harder.
FIFTH GALA ROUND- SURELE SAT
Abhijeet who picked up the most appropriate song that suited his new looks and voice of course – “Bachna ae haseeno lo mei agaya”. His voice quality brought back memories of Kishor Kumar. As the rounds progress Abhijeet is acquiring glamour. No more the simple boy look. His headshakes are becoming a trademark.
Farah said “I like the way you shake you head” I think our boy has figured out what works for him. Even this time Farah was very happy with his performance.
Anu wants him to work harder
Sonu put in a word of caution. After a good performance there is a tendency to become a bit careless.
Our celebrity judge Sanjay sees an “Indian Idol wali bat” in Abhijeet.
SIXTH GALA ROUND- REPUBLIC DAY SPECIAL
Abhijeet took the audience by storm with a fantastic performance of “ Kar chale hum fida jano tan sathiyon”
Sonu decalred that Abhijeet had raised the compition to a very high level.
Anu said that he was not a girl or else he would marry Abhijeet and his performance was outstanding.
Farah said his song brought tears to her eyes.
Karan said that he had never given much credit to Abhijeet’s performances but after last night he felt that Abhijeet indeed it was a showstopper.

SEVENTH GALA ROUND- OLD IS GOLD
Abhijeet went easy and sang a romantic number from the film “Julie” “Dil kya kare”

Farah said that Abhijeet’s mother’s gajar ka halwa had done its trick and Abhijeet was spectacular.
Anu lost his heart to Abhijeet, of course in poetic style.
Shilpa who had admitted right in the beginning that Abhijeet was her favourite. She loves his singing, his voice but most of all she loves his smile.

EIGHTH GALA ROUND- DOSTI AUR SAFAR

Abhijeet set the stage on fire with “Dil Chahata hai”.
Farah hit the nail on the head when she called him “a lumbi race ka ghoda”. He was delivering when it was most needed, now that the goal was in sight
Anu admitted that Abhijeet had picked a rather difficult song and had done well. He was proud that they had selected him.
Sonu said that he had never doubted Abhijeet’s voice but he wanted Abhijeet to put more effort into his expressions
Abhijeet let sentimentality flow with “O majhi re”
Farah felt that both RD Burman and Kishore Kumar would have been proud. What could be a higher compliment?
Anu was at his poetic best “ Dim the lights for they are not needed. Your shine is good enough” Sonu found soul in his song and felt that he should definitely make it to the next round
NINTH GALA ROUND- ROMANCE ROUND
Abhijeet sizzled in a Sharukh Khan like shirt as he sang a Sharukh Khan song “Ban ke tera jogi” Farah was full praise for him and the original quality of his voice.
Anu clearly said that he was a great singer and deserved to be the Indian Idol. Sonu praised Abhijeet’s voice
Priyanka said that apart from everything else what she really liked about Abhijeet was that he wanted to win the competition for his friends.

Next he sang the ultimate romantic number “Tu mile dil khile”
Farah said that this was probably the best selection among the songs.
Anu said that Abhijeet had selected a tough song but had sung it well such that he did not know whether to see him or hear him. But one thing he knew for certain is that Abhijeet would be the Indian Idol.
Sonu did not go all the way but he too said that Abhijeet had sung beautifully.
Priyanka said she would like to hear more of Abhijeet in the future.
FINAL GALA ROUND- CLASH OF THE TITANS
Abhijeet sang “Channave”. Earlier he had rocked the audiences with this song and even this time the live audiences were screaming with excitement
Anu after congratulating Abhijeet said that he was indeed a great singer and had added to the “raunak” of the Indian Idol.
Sonu called Abhijeet the perfect package. So far all had been calling him the dark horse! It was only in the last couple of rounds that Abhijeet’s performance had started topping the charts.
Farah though that he had performed very well
Kajol fell for Abhijeet’s style and said that he was rocking
Abhijeet mesmerized the audience with “Mere khayalon ke mallika” Abhijeet has always been complimented on having a voice that is best suited for romantic songs. So what could have been a better song for Abhijeet?
Anu said that he had chosen the song as he knew that Abhijeet would do justice to it. He said that last night’s performance was bound to get Abhijeet not only praises but also the votes.
Sonu said that some like Abhijeet’s smile, while others his personality or style but for Sonu singing has always come first and on that account too Abhijeet got top marks.
Farah felt that Abhijeet’s second performance was definitely better than the first
Kajol simply said that Abhijeet was fabulous.

Abhijeet sang another version of the same song that Amit had performed. Hearing him
Anu felt that indeed Abhijeet had a hero’s voice. A good voice always added to a hero’s appeal and Abhijeet’s was definitely going to do that.
Sonu said that he was happy that Abhijeet had given a fitting finale to the show.
Farah found the last performance the best of all Abhijeet’s three performance
Kajol gave him full marks for presentation.
